Both of my P64 mags have ALMOST enough room for a 7th round. It also appears that there is enough space in the body to allow another cartridge.
Just curious if anyone's tried this. The springs seem pretty strong, so I don't imagine losing a coil or two would hurt the feeding.
Anyone?

Ok, so I got a small ball peen hammer and a brass punch, placed the slide on a cloth-covered pine block, and tapped the bent piece VERY lightly. It broke off. Here's the kicker: The slide cycles like BUTTER, now. It was always a little rough, but I assumed that there were tool marks to blame. It's l...

Possible slide damage? Please advise. UPDATE: It broke off!
I've been wrestling with my P64 since yesterday, trying to get the damned slide back on. It's been off before, and went on with a little hassle, but I got it in a few tries. Not this time. The spring is on properly, the end has been ground down. I know it fits. The problem is, the slide doesn't fit ...

Wow people really jack up the prices...
Saw one at a show here in PA.
$350.
I asked the dealer if there was any room on the price. He said "no" and turned his back to me.
I'm guessing a lot of people were asking him that question. ::)

New springs didn't seem to help trigger much.
What's the best way to accomplish this? What tools did you use?PshootR wrote: Polishing the hammer strut and the hammer (between the single-action notch and the safety-notch) will help too. Don't alter either notch, just the curved area between them.

Well I shot the P64 last night. Holy hell did that thing HURT! It was not an enjoyable experience.... Huh, first time I have heard that :). Replacing the hammer and recoil springs is about a 5 minute job. It lightened the DA pull and recoil slightly. What also helps my sensitive girlie hand is a sl...

Well I shot the P64 last night. Holy hell did that thing HURT! It was not an enjoyable experience. I'm going to have to shoehorn that Wolff recoil spring in there somehow and see if that helps. On the plus side, the gun was VERY accurate. I ate the middle out of the target at 30'. Ammo was Blazer ba...

I took it all apart, grips and all. It was remarkably clean. There was some white grease on the rails, but it wasn't cosmoline.
I just realized that was a limerick. I rock.

Last week I got a1975-era P64 from J&G Sales. It is in great shape aside from a square of adhesive material that was stuck to the side. It looks like they had a label or something on there for a while. It came off easily with some CLP. The gun was greased well on all bearing surfaces and devoid ...

New springs didn't seem to help trigger much.
I did search a bit on this, and it seems that people are satisfied with the Wolff replacement springs, but in my case they didn't seem to help a whole lot. I installed an 18lb spring, and the pull IS a little better, but still in the "absurdly heavy" range. Are my expectations too high? Is...
