Range report...disaster with a capital D

The pin in my 1972 triangular hammer began to walk out after 50 rounds. I pushed it back in and shot it some more before I sold it. It did not come out again the second time. I miss my gun! :(

Anyone purchased the new unissued P-64 from Ioinc?

I called a week ago to purchase one and got the same response. They said it might not be until November before they get some more. I would try J&G but it is a crap shoot and I would not be happy if I got a bad one. :(

Question: Mineral spirts effect on gun finish?

If I use mineral spirits to soak my P-64 in is there any possibility of it removing or thinning the bluing on the gun? How long should I soak the gun in the spirits? Will it remove the red dot below the safety? Is it necessary to spray with brake cleaner after the soak in mineral spirts? Can the bra...

Question: Thumb rest or not and what year to buy?

What are the advantages disadvantages to having the P-64 with the thumb rest. I had a 1972 triangle hammer that did not have the rest. The slide did slightly nick my thumb and I had to hold the gun with the pinky finger below the mag to avoid rail road tracks. So I have big hands..... Should I stick...

No P64!

I know how you feel. I shot my P-64 this weekend and was impressed with the accuracy. It always cuts my thumb at the base each time I use it. When doing a double action shot it pinched my trigger finger just before the trigger break so now I have a large blood blister on my finger. The bluing was wo...

Anyone purchased the new unissued P-64 from Ioinc?

How did the pistols look? I am curious to whether the bluing was all there, no rust, clean bore etc. I just sold the 1972 this past weekend. The finish was just not up to snuff and the pin slipping out was too much. It shot beautifully with ball and hollow points. I know many don't care how they loo...

Anyone purchased the new unissued P-64 from Ioinc?

This is good to hear. Did you have to pay the $35 shipping or did they offer you other options? I don't know what version to get. The one I have is a 1972 with the triangular hammer and the letter "A" stamped on the butt. Which version/revision is better? A round hammer would be nice but t...

Anyone purchased the new unissued P-64 from Ioinc?

I am a new member and just purchased a P-64 from the local show. It looks OK and performs great. I am so pleased with the small size and weight I am thinking of getting a second one. Has anyone purchased one of the new unissued P-64's from Ioinc for $199? Is it really new and unissued. Can anyone co...

Trigger Guard Hinge Pin

I can get the hammer. Any suggestions on how to do this? Do I just gently tap the pin ends? What end result should I look for? Will I need an anvil to support the bottom of the trigger frame that has the other end of the pin? I just do not want to bash my gun up. It is not as nice looking as many of...

Trigger Guard Hinge Pin

I would like to pean my hinge pin. How do you do this? Do I need any special tools? That is the only problem I have ever had with one of my P 64s. I put it back in and piened(spelling) the offending end and had no more problems. Another trick learned from Norm was to get a nail ,I believe I used a f...
