I live in the extreme Northeast corner of Ohio, on the Southern shore of Lake Erie and on the border of Pennsylvania.

Sight question
Yes, I tried the Glow powder. Mixed it with some clear nail polish and applied it with a toothpick. I works OK, and the sights light up nicely -- after being charged in light. That's the problem: if you draw from a holster in the dark, you may as well have the stock sights without enhancement. I thi...

Slight Pitting: Any Ideas?
I polished my Polish gun with fine steel wool and CLP oil and it looks much better! It must have been just surface rust in a few tiny spots. I know nothing is perfect, but these are such pretty little guns, I want it to look the best it can.

Sight question
I ordered some of the Glow powder. I am eager to try glow dots on my front and rear P-64 sights. I'll try to post some pictures when I get it squared away.

Rough-looking hammer strut
Thanks for the advice. Perhaps I'll just let time and use do some polishing and not take a chance at messing up an unobtainable part!

Rough-looking hammer strut
Last night I removed the hammer strut and burnished the sides against 400 sandpaper, but I was reluctant to remove any metal from the notch surfaces, even though they are very rough. Should I take the chance to polish those surfaces? Anybody know where I can get a new hammer strut if I ruin this one...

Rough-looking hammer strut
I just installed a new Wolff 20# hammer spring, and discovered that my hammer strut looks like it was rough ground and left unfinished on the upper end. Has anyone else noticed this on theirs? BTW, the hammer spring improved the double action just enough and the single action doesn't seem too light....

Slight Pitting: Any Ideas?
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll first try some super-fine steel wool and oil (CLP probably) and see what happens. I love the blued finish and hate to change to a coating, although some of them look mighty good and seem to be very durable.

Slight Pitting: Any Ideas?
My newly-acquired P-64 has very slight pitting on the left side of the slide. Otherwise, it is perfect and inside it looks like it had never been fired. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any ideas how to clean up the pitting? Super-fine sandpaper and re-bluing?
Thanks for the help.

WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
I am a new member of this forum, and a new owner of a P-64, and...a fairly new gun owner. My wife bought me a Springfield XDM-9 for my birthday last November (note the timing with the election :) I have browsed the Board and have already learned a lot. Before shooting my unissued pistol from I.O., I...

P-64 TRIGGER PULL IMPROVEMENT
Thanks for the details. I also am concerned about making the SA too light if I replace the hammer spring, and DA is just too stiff. I'll try your repair, as soon as you can sell the springs. By my count, you have only 7 posts to go! (Perhaps by then, I will have enough posts to see your selling post.)

P-64 TRIGGER PULL IMPROVEMENT
Thanks for the post. Any possibility of a few photos of what you did? One of the wooden block in place would be especially helpful.
