But it followed me home from the Gunshow..Honest!

Novgarod...any suggestions for modern concealed holsters or where to find vintage ones?? Carguy, I have a Ted Blocker IWB that snugly fits this old narrow gun, but I cannot find a holster model #. It also fits a Bianchi leather for small .380 autos. I suggest trying some out at a gun show - they may...

But it followed me home from the Gunshow..Honest!

There are lots of good reasons that you liked to shoot the Colt 1903 hammerless - a total of 572.000 have been produced and our military was still giving them out to general officers as self-defense sidearms during WWII. They simply melt away during concealment and they fit the hand like a glove. Ye...

OT: I am needing input on a new gun.

Reliability, all metal, and reasonable cost seem to be your main concerns for a 9mm. Space gave you a good Beretta (Stoeger Cougar@$325) and Cz-75 is always up on top. Don't forget the 9mms from Ruger (not elite, but very reliable; my P-89 was a real garbage can and could put any load thru its gulle...

Polishing Feed Ramp & Chamber

Good tip, Garry, on moistening the felt before polishing. Dremel has a cleaning/polishing kit that's about $11 that contains many felt disks, wheels and a bullet shape that I like for the ramp, plus it includes the 421 polishing powder (essentially jeweler's rouge), so the kit is a better overall de...

Cross Draw Holster for Your CZAK

FYI: A holster caught my eye in the Christmas Sale Catalog that arrived yesterday from The Sportsman's Guide (Cat#204263; page 152). Its a Guide Gear holster that provides quick access when sitting/driving and it is available for the PPK (that's P-64 country!) and both LH and RH versions. Half off p...

Bzingg, congrats on ownership of FOUR CZAKS! What are their dates? Do you like the models from the 60s or 70s better? Welcome aboard!

Hey, Hawker, I tried Preparation H once - I liked the color and it helped shrink the pores in the wood . . . ;D ;D

Wow, Norm, no wonder C. Bond has been so busy lately - new saddles for THREE 9x18 pushers!

Excellent photo, by the way. It makes me want to see more. How about some details on the wood selected? Is that sculpturing on the 69 CZAK?

Can't resist bragging . . .

Hey, kempin, glad to see some competitive interest back in the Polish drill and it looks like you should get a 50 at 25 meters (27 yards). The CZAK is a truly accurate small, but mighty pistol as you have shown. Here's an easy target to make that accurately depicts Bartos' target dimensions: Start w...

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull

Bkiles, my concern about the recommendations for mainspring exchanges on this forum is that no distinction is being made about the suitability of the modificated weapon for CCW and/or for range/target/plinking only. Concealed carry dictates surprises will not be tolerated - consider the following sc...

Space, just a quick note to congratulate you on the latest photos of your curly maple grips. They also show how great the finish on a CZAK can be! The treatment with chromium trioxide, as suggested by Normsutton, is interesting and I will investigate for a muzzleloader project in progress.

Himmel, I am flattered that your son is using my finishing technique. It does fill the pores and one could still later apply urethane for increased durability. I have been looking at different woods and the "black and white ebony" is not expensive and has great contrast and pattern. What d...

Great photos, Nimble1, and likewise the continued excellent workmanship by Chris Bond. What was the choice of woods? I am very pleased with my grips (click on thumbnails above) :D. Was a lighter wood used for your backstrap or was that an effect from the flash? I wonder how many grips have been craf...

14#, 16# or 18# springs ???

Normsutton, you can review my previous posts on this subject of main springs. I currently have a 20# PPK spring (original setup with PPK) in my 1975 CZAK; the 18# spring in this pistol at 40 degrees caused an accidental discharge for SA; it may depend upon the gun since the DAs seem to vary. In any ...

Do I have your mag?

The topic for this thread was started back in January. We need to pull all the inputs together, possibly as a sticky, and keep adding mag numbers for a possible swap.
