SMC-22 problems
Yeah I will definetly try some different .22 brands when I get the chance. The slide/rail interaction is very smooth. Without the spring and hammer, it slides back and forth smoothly. Speaking of the hammer, it may be part of the problem. I have noticed that, at the last 1/2" or so of travel, t...

SMC-22 problems
Hi, I haven't had alot of time to shoot my new SMC pistols, but I took the SMC-22 to the range and had a pretty significant reliability problem. What is happening is it appears the slide doesn't have the force to strip a round into the chamber. Even from a locked back position if I dropped the slide...

P64 or SMC 918?
southpaw get the 15 Lb cut one coil longer at the big end heat that one coil to a cherry red then press it down on something the won't burn and just air cool ,you have finished end on the spring NORM Figured heating would be involved... I would have guessed the small (chamber) end as opposed to the...

P64 or SMC 918?
I think all the springs will interchange between the PA-63 and the SMC-918 except for the recoil spring. PshootR you are right , you can take the recoil spring and cut it to length, to fit a SMC , NORM Are you sure this is safe? If so, which poundage should one use and from which end should you cut...

P64 or SMC 918?
I bought 5 pair of grips panels years ago from GPC with the flat left, necessary as I am a southpaw. No kiddin, thankfully SSMEWDI has them, I got several! I am wondering if there is a source for the following spare parts for the SMC/R61 series: 1- recoil spring 2- hammer spring 3- trigger spring 4...

P64 or SMC 918?
For normal day to day activities, I carrying my P64 (and Makarovs) condition 2 -- one in the chamber, hammer down and safety off. I'd put the safety on if I was doing something unusually high impact though. Opinions will vary on this I'm sure, I suggest getting fully acquainted with the design and ...

catastrophic failure
Wow, glad he wasn't (permanently) injured.
Regarding the other rounds, its quite possible they were set off, look at this failure of a Colt .44Mag Anaconda:

In the story link, guy says that one round from the cylinder went downrange!

P64 or SMC 918?
Oh, one last thing, I assume these are safe to carry hammer down (decocked) and safety off? I believe the PPKs and makarovs are safe to do that as well.

Polish P-83 Wanad at J&G Sales
I have read that makarov mags work in these (and visa versa). Can anyone verify that
That would be a BIG plus in my book, not having to buy another magazine type!

P64 or SMC 918?
beasleydano, thanks for that source for the grips... also one other thing I noticed is that pa63 mags will fit in an smc918. If I CCW an SMC918 I can have 7rd mags as extra, PLUS I could have a PA-63 as truck gun (it would fit the bill pretty well) and mags would interchange. In your experience, is ...

nice, is there a source of flat left grips? I like those marshal grips but I would rather stick with OEM/plastic grips for carry guns if at all possible.
I think sooner or later Im gonna end up with darn near all of these 9x18 pistols. bye bye money!

P64 or SMC 918?
One other issue I noticed with the FEGs is that thumbrest bit would have to go... I see that custom wood grips are available, but that adds another $50. One plus for the FEGs is there is a .22lr version out there, nice to have a 22 to practice with and 9x18 for keeps. Im especially interested in the...

P64 or SMC 918?
Hey there, new to these forums, I am debating as to which to get for a pocket pistol. I already have a makarov PM and I like it alot, but its a bit too big for pocket carrying. Im having trouble deciding on which one, they each seem to have + and -: Which has the better trigger? Which would be more ...
