Re: How to remove polish iron grips?

I'm going to be sending mine back, and getting the new model Russ tells me will be out in a month or so. The new model will be open on one side, and as such I suspect will be much, much easier to get on and off.

Re: How to remove polish iron grips?

If I hadn't put these girps on myself, I'd be convinced they were glued on.

Re: How to remove polish iron grips?

I can get them released, but I can't keep them released. I've tried working a shim in, but the downside is it increases the significant compression of the grips.

How to remove polish iron grips?

How DOES one remove polish iron grips? I'm in communication with Russ, who suggested I heat them. I'm doing so, but it's good to get a second opinion. I got them on, and now I can't get them off. In Russ's video, he seems to pull on the bottom to free up the part that inserts into the frame, then ju...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?

Rider, try as I might, I cannot get these grips to budge. Think I'll need a razor knife to get them off. For the time being, it's just sitting here on my desk, and from time to time I try to budge them. I've watched the part of the video where he takes them off, and stood baffled as he does it easil...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?

I just got my Polish Iron grips on. They feel good, so does the extended mag release. But there is one problem. My grip screw is too short for them. :( I know they won't come off, but there is something in my mind that just can't accept having an empty hole there. Anywhere I can get a longer grip sc...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?

Hey folks, update. I have ordered the P64 grips from polish iron, but I'm returning my p64 and ordering one in better condition from classic firearms, so I don't know how well the grips will work until next week, but I'll keep you posted.

Re: Another P83 Decocker with trouble.

Eh, I know a guy, but I'm not sure I want to put more money into it. If it's something I can fix myself, all well and good, but if it's going to cost me another hundred I'd rather return.

Re: Another P83 Decocker with trouble.

I don't think it's the detent. I mean, it's not perfect, but the safety lever moves fine when the slide is off the weapon. I think it's the fulcrum of the disconnector that the safety pushes against. Now, I can't get deep into the trigger. I would take it apart, but without a video on how to put it ...

Re: Another P83 Decocker with trouble.

Yes, if you pull the hammer, the decocker works... Also if you set it to safe and rack the action, it decocks. One can also pull the slide back slightly and set the decocker and push the slide forward. If I were in a Mad Max world, I'm sure that would be enough, but as it is I dislike having buying ...

Re: Another P83 Decocker with trouble.

No joy as yet. I gave it 12 hours in the bath, pulled it, washed it, oiled it, and I'm still letting the oil sink in, but it looks like the decocker is as stiff as ever. Feels almost like the disconnector's fulcrum can't ever get oil, but there's enough oil in there that it should. Maybe I'll ship i...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?

http://www.marschalgrips.com/hires-p64/P64.HTM These? Very tempting. As I said, I very much like the style of the weapon, but the knuckle cracking is a (temporary) deal breaker. It's bad enough that I'm wondering if maybe I'm missing something, thus the thread. I don't 'think' I have particularly we...

Hey.... When I'm done, how do I get the mineral spirits off? Any trick to that?
