Re: CZ-82 mag release sticking

I was thinking the button was dragging too. That's where I did the polishing. Looking closely now under a bright light, the hole for the thumb button looks pretty good and the spare thumb button I have does not drag in the hole. However, the hole where the other parts fit has pretty deep machine mar...

Re: CZ-82 mag release sticking

It was the same on both sides. It usually worked but just felt really rough and movement was jerky like it was rubbing over ridges or something. A couple of times, it stuck solid and wouldn't move either way. I got a new (used) trigger guard from Buymilsurp.com and put the original mag release parts...

CZ-82 mag release sticking

The mag release on my CZ82 feels like it is full of sand and is sticking badly. Sometimes I have to push on the release with the base of a spare magazine to get it to release. I have searched the web and found similar problems that were solved by filing off a ridge that wears into the release button...

Re: Trigger Pin not flush

I never had to tap that pin in. It might take a pair of long nose pliers to rotate into position some times but I could always push it back in with my thumb. They do tend to fling brass. I shoot in an indoor range and it's not unusual to find brass which has bounced off the partition wall then ended...

Re: Trigger Pin not flush

That threw me too when I first got my P64. That pin has an oblong head which fits into a matching depression in the frame. Pulling the trigger with the slide off will make the pin 'walk' out and rotate so the head doesn't line up with the depression. No matter how hard you push, it won't go flush. R...

Re: 69 P64

What about magazines? The lips on my '74 are longer (back to front) than the lips on my '69.

Re: What can go wrong on these, what has broke on your p-64?

I have two P-64s and maybe a thousand or so rounds through both combined. No problems here. The only things I have heard complaints about breaking or wearing out are the springs mentioned above and safeties (springs, plungers, and the actual safety itself). There have been several requests for firin...

Re: recoil pain

I'm familiar with the skint thumb knuckle. I have fat hands and short fingers. The only way I can get my fingertip solidly on the trigger puts the slide too close to my knuckle. I had a shooting instructor tell me shoot a magazine or two left handed during a session. It lets your right hand recover ...

Re: 9x18 case length limits

I tried the net thing with limited success. I used a tropical fish net with a long handle. I think I can get it to work better if I remove the mesh and replace it with something deeper to keep brass from bouncing back out. My wife suggested panty hose but somehow, I don't think I would appreciate th...

Re: 9x18 case length limits

Thanks. I may get a 9x19 gauge and grind it down to get closer to the trim to length. Brass lasting a long time is not an issue. My indoor range doesn't allow picking up brass and with the brass bouncing off the partition and then off the back wall, it is difficult to find anyway. I may have a few c...

9x18 case length limits

What's the limit for 9x18 case lengths. I have been using a LEE Makarov case length gauge and trimmer to cut down 9x19 brass for some time and I'm trying to verify the cases are still coming out within specs. My cases are coming out .703 in.

Re: First time at Range - Magazine Jiggle

Jiggle? With a loaded magazine with the slide back... There is some play in both of mine such that the magazine moves up and down maybe 1/32-1/16 inch. With the slide forward, there is spring tension on the mag so it stays put. I had a few jams when I first got my first P64. After a few trips to the...

Re: New member and range report!

My P-64 is just as accurate as my Makarov. However, comfort and recoil ..... The smaller P-64 definitely has more snap and felt recoil than the Makarov. I recommend treating it's first shot the way you treated the .357 on the first shot. It takes a little getting used to.

Re: Hair trigger

Gotta be the hammer spring. The trigger spring just makes the trigger go forward when you release your finger. It does very little to affect the trigger pull. Using a lighter hammer spring will reduce the ungodly double action trigger pull (I am guessing that's what you are calling your first shot)....

Re: Few questions...new to this

Recoil spring is no problem. If the new spring is too long, you just can't get the slide back quite far enough back to get the slide back on the frame. Just file the end of the 'wire' off so the metal tapers to a point like the original spring instead of ending blunt. Then slip it on the barrel, sma...
