OP, glad that the damage isn't permanent and you're on the mend. Whew.
Hope this isn't too morbid but my curiosity has got me... did you recover the bullet?

New molded nylon P64 holster: pics
Mine arrived a couple weeks ago... the PA-63 actually fits perfectly and the strap closes fine. Fits the P64 like a glove too. Very nice for the money.

Do you have to remove the safety mechanism & firing pin/spring, etc. for the rebluing touchup?
Will the oven temp mess up the springs at all?
Thanks.

22 lbs Recoil Spring
Thanks, I think I got most/all of the cosmoline off manually with solvent; but there's got to be some in the trigger mechanism and safety mechanism that's still there. Can I boil/steam the entire slide and frame of the pistol? I'm assuming that after air drying or modest heat drying (oven at 125F) I...

22 lbs Recoil Spring
thanks, got it today from Centerfire Systems... really nice shape except for a little wear by the end of the muzzle. Hope to get it to the range in a couple days. Looks like there's real heavy oil all over the thing. Will clean it off with Hoppes #9 tonight. Should I just field strip it, take off th...

changing PA-63 springs
worked out fine. very easy to change both the recoil (obviously) and the hammer spring following online directions. Didn't change the firing pin spring per Norman's advice. Changed them out last week and finally made it to the range today. Recoil is better, but it really didn't bother me in the firs...

22 lbs Recoil Spring
ordered a P64 today & will order the springs tonight. Can someone please post a photo of the 'flattened' spring ends? I'm assuming that grinding/flattening the spring ends is simply accomplished by slowly holding the end flat against a grinding wheel, correct?

changing PA-63 springs
just bought a PA-63 last week; $201.00 OTD from our local gun shop; a little high but after you add in s&h and transfer fees when ordering online the price worked out to be the same. cleaned it & took it right to the range... great pistol! purchased and installed a #15 recoil and #9 hammer s...
