My slide stop bar broke over a year ago, haven't been able to find a replacement yet.

Unfortunately that doesn't help my problem and I have a few hundred rounds of it that I can't use now. :'(
Is the gun still functional without this part in place? (I didn't want to just go and try putting rounds through it without asking first.) Trying to figure out what my options are.

I don't know exactly what happened, but I was using my P64 at the range and doing great until suddenly the slide would not close at all.
