Is it just me, or....

CORRECT! Even if the hammer were down in any event, one can COCK THE HAMMER IF THERE'S A ROUND IN, or rack the slide if there isn't. Right. And it occurs to me that I should never have the need to engage the safety if the chamber is empty. Being left handed, for me it's actually more efficient to l...

If you insert the mag and chamber the round with the safety disengaged, as the manual instructs, then even your first shot is SA, so you may never have to experience the DA pull.

Q about ID'ing the P-64

I know what the p64 looks like but I don't know much about other pistols, so how do I know when I'm looking at one that it isn't a similar weapon? I ask because I'm always checking the pistols on TV and the movies to see if anyone's carrying the 64. I've never seen anyone do it so far, but it has to...

Read the 2nd amendment. It's clear to me, don't know why it's so hard to understand for the Liberals. Enough said. Penn & Teller have a show on HBO named "Bull$hit". They did a great show about how worthless gun laws are. I was pretty amazed to find that they were pro-gun. If you get ...

That slippery slope syndrome is a by-product of voters' support for the two-party system in this country. When I said before that it's not related to gun control I meant that it wasn't specific to guns, that it permeates through all legislation. That's why we have the tons of regulations. And really...

Big Gun-buying trend in Big Easy

You're not alone. That shop owner said that a lot of couples were buying and training together. I guess it beats going to the movies.

Big Gun-buying trend in Big Easy

Just watched a local news special regarding the purchase of guns down here in the affected parishes in the wake of Katrina. They did a poll and found that 43% of respondents purchased a gun since the hurricane, and another 18% said they intended to get one. And you have to believe that a portion of ...

OK, I won't continue with the church thing, but I do agree with the golf thing. Carry your p-64 on the golf course! Keep it in your bag because, as was mentioned before, carrying it in your belt can affect your swing. I gave up golf a few years ago but I can't remember how many times I cold have use...

Who carries to Church

I think you're right about acting a certain way in church or out, but the gun thing may be more akin to cursing throughout the week. In other words, for all we know it may be a sin to carry at any time. God could be against firearms, period. I'm not a churchgoer, but I don't think God envisioned hi...

By all means, bring your gun to church. It sure beats praying.

(sigh) I think you guys got your threads mixed up. I didn't quote any statistics, didn't make anything up, certainly didn't get mad. Not a liberal, leftist or elitist. Wasn't picking a fight. I didn't say people here couldn't be trusted, but I wouldn't advise anyone to go around trusting people you ...

I've got my own P64, I don't need to jump behind anybody. The right to defend my family? I give it to myself. Too bad about those unconstitutional laws. The constitution's been dead for many, many years now. It was a good document for its time, tho. I don't know what more I can say. I don't think I ...

Give Dick Cheney a jawbone of an ass and he's still harmless, but put a gun in the hands of an idiot and nobody's safe.

No, I don't trust my fellow citizens. Not a bit. That's why I bought my P64. I'd love to think all gun owners are as respectful and curious about their weapons as I see on these boards, but that aint the case. Let the NRA defend a skinhead's right to own a gun, I'd rather see him fill out a form fir...
