Well, it happened to me
It definitely is a good excuse, I never liked that thumbrest anyways. It sat directly under the knuckle on my trigger finger (I'm a lefty).

9x18 reloads?
I reload the 9x18. While I have never run them over a crony they don't feel anemic to me, they feel on par with S&B and WWB. I use a light taper crimp. I have used both AA#5 and VV N320 and find that they are both very clean burning.

CZ 82 Recoil spring change
I also run a CZ-82 with an 18lb recoil spring. It is still brisk, but no longer a slap in the hand.

Well, it happened to me
My left grip panel shattered at the range today. It broke off in my hand at the first shot of the day. Now I have heard of this happening and that it is due to overtightening of the screw that holds the grips on, so I have been careful (so I thought) to not do that. But I am curious to know, if your...

Another question, as far as blueing these goes...Do I need real motor oil, or will synthetic work just fine?

Is the Recoil Really that BAD??
The P-64 weighs in at 22.something ounces unloaded, but keep in mind that it's a blowback operated pistol and not a locked breech mechanism. My mother has a Bersa .380, so I have a little bit of experience with that too. I'd say that the P-64 is quite a bit more abrupt and forceful than the Bersa. S...

Thanks Norm! This explains why I couldn't find any locally. The smallest our local hardware carries is M4. I will have to shop around eh.

Grip nut jumped ship
So I had my P64 out to the range last weekend, a group of us braved the cold and snow to go have some fun. Everyone enjoyed the little gun, they were surprised at how much it recoiled and at how accurate it was. When I got some that night I sat down and started cleaning guns as usual. Got to my P64 ...

Is the Recoil Really that BAD??
I'd say it's really that bad. It's the only pistol I have so far that bruises my hand. Mine has stock springs still. I've gotten used to it, but I still don't like to shoot more than 25 or so out of it at a time.

Any BP shooters here?
Sorry about that Norm, I've been using photobucket for a while now and I had no idea they recently upped their size limit. Everything I used to put on there got resized automatically. I shrunk down the two I posted on the boards here, and although they show up smaller on photobucket now, that doesn'...

Yahoo! I got one! CZ82 that is
I have one of these, it was actually my first pistol way back. At one point it broke the latch at the top of the trigger guard that holds it in place, presumably from a weak recoil spring allowing the slide to impact it too hard. I replaced that and got a set of wolff springs for it, currently I'm r...

PA-63 from CDNN
Are these C&R eligible? I would like to have one, but would prefer not to have to pay the FFL xfer fee ($30) my LGS charges. Especially not on a sub-$150 gun.

Shot my P64 for the first time today
Mine also has a light single action trigger. I'd estimate it to be around 3lb, about the same as my RIA 1911. It doesn't break like glass and it has a little bit of grit to it, but it is light. Everybody else who's tried it is surprised it's the same gun when they fire the 2nd shot. I like it alot a...

Chuck, does it look like this? Note the two new shells on each end for reference. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g198/NORMSUTTON/bullets/cases.jpg If not, I would not worry. I don't think I've yet seen a gun that doesn't put some sort of soot on the fired shell. Usually this is caused by gasses e...

How was your P-64 packaged?
Mine came wrapped in a white newspaper, the holster was in its own plastic bag (still sealed), and the three magazines and manual weren't wrapped in anything but it all came in a cardboard box.
