Gritty Grinding Slide
Maybe what you are feeling is the slide pulling back the hammer.

My new P64
Personally, I like the "used" look on that P64...I wouldn't change a thing. For one, you won't have to worry about carry wear you inflict. Second, you pull that on a bad guy, he's gonna see an experienced piece, not just some "pretty boy" pistol bought at the gun boutique. I don...

Is the slide really black or is it purple like mine but shows black in the pictures?

Centerfire delivered mine today
The HP gets stuck on the upper side of the feed ramp - since the bullet is not round, it cannot slide into the barrel after it's pushed out of the magazine at that angle.

Centerfire delivered mine today
Does yours feed HP rounds? Mine jams on the feed ramp so I have FMJ in my magazine. My HP ammo is Silver Bear (I use it in my CZ-82 without problem).

P-64 CLEANING ROD
I use the cleaning rod I got when I bought my CZ-82. My P-64 came with nothing - just the handgun.

What kind of a dangerous location does the OP live that he needs to carry a gun while training for a 5K run?

Slide cutting hand????
My hands are normal sized and I have never cut my hand with the slide. I guess it's more of how you hold the handgun than the actual design of the gun. The slide on P64 is curved on the back so even if one gets cut, it will be a smooth slicing action than a powerful stab.

How to carry...
Mine is 6+0 with safety off for a quick slide pull. The alternative would be 6+1 with safety on but I think pulling the slide is faster than taking the safety off and cocking for a single action.
Otherwise, I would not feel very comfortable with the gun being safe for me and my surrounding.

New P-64 owner, a few questions
On second thought, what you described is not really jamming with two cartridges in the slide but the slide lock being activated prematurely. Please disregard my above post.

New P-64 owner, a few questions
You didn't mention whether it was FMJ or HP. My P-64 jams with HP bullets but is fine with the FMJ. Since HP is not a rounded tip, it doesn't slide into its place. Another problem might be the extractor as mentioned above. If it doesn't catch the casing to pull it after the slide moves back, the cas...

P-64, For the Ladies? I don't think so!
My wife can't even pull the slide on it. We are now looking for a S&W revolver for her (a model 640 with a laser grip).

Max ammo capacity?
CZ-82 looks only a little bigger but it is a heavier and thicker gun. I don't really think it is a conceal carry piece. P-64 is far more compact and can be carried in a pocket.
But CZ-82 is more pleasant to shoot. P-64 is like popping cherry bombs in your hand.

Unpleasant experience.
I got my P-64 a few weeks ago and took it to the range a couple of days ago. Shot 70+ rounds through it. By the end, I really hated shooting it. The webbing on my hand was red from the recoil. Two days later it is still bruised and hurting. But I will still keep it. It's a nice size to carry and it ...
