Re: 22 rim fire into 224 rifle bullets

Pretty neat, NormSutton. You have just duplicated the 1940s work of Vernon Speer and Fred Huntington. Speer of course founded the company that bears his name and Huntington founded the Rock Chuck Bullet Swage company, today known as RCBS. There was a shortage of ammunition and components during the ...

Re: How a P-64 compares to a PPK

boomer: I thought the stiff kick of the P-64 was due to Newton's third law. Takes 25# to pull the trigger, so it kicks your palm with 25# (Har.)

Re: Bullet Molds

I am using Lee exclusively because of 1) price and 2) I am just getting started. I didn't want to sink a lot of money into casting if I found I didn't want to do any more. I do not have need to cast a lot of bullets, a hundred or two at a time. I don't know about how long a Lee mold will last but th...

Gander Mountain P-64 for sale

Any reloaders here?

How do you collect your brass? My pistol launches it into the next county. I have used a brass catcher attached to my shooting hand but that is PITA.

Reloading the 9X18

Thanks NORMSUTTON. Because I have jars full of 9x19 already resized and decapped for Luger, like I said above, I ground off the tip of a Lee trimming mandrel to about 18.15 mm. This fits the mouth of the resized 9x19. Chuck the holder in a drill press and trim away. The first load looks a little fun...

Reloading the 9X18

Okay. I trimmed 9mm Luger to ~18mm. Worked better after I ground the tip off the 9mm Luger pilot 'cause it is real hard to get the Mak pilot into the smaller brass, even after expanding. (All Lee tools.) Final length was 17.7-17.9 mm. I loaded some older 90 gr Speer Gold Dots with 6.3 gr of HS-6, CC...

Reloading the 9X18

Thanks. I just ordered the trimmer and dies. Hope to have something to test in a week or two. I am trying to reduce the number of different powders I have. I like Unique because of its universality, 9mm to 45 acp. Great stuff. But a friend gave me his stock which included better part of a pound of B...

recoil same, worse or not as bad as 357 revolver

As stated recoil is kind of a personal thing. I have several magnum revolvers and I feel the recoil differently. I have to say, the two most unpleasant handguns to shoot for me is a short-barreled 41 magnum and the P-64. The recoil of the P-64 was totally unexpected; I would expect a blowback operat...

Reloading the 9X18

Hi. I am new to the 9X18 but not to reloading. I see from the manuals, the available bullet choices are few and the corresponding loads are few. 1) I also see that there are no loads for Unique. Why? 2) Any pet loads? I have Bullseye and HS-6 powder available which are two of several called out in t...
