Switching to the P64
Wrothgar, Funny, I just read your posts on FL. I own a XD9SC and P64. I wont sell my XD, but I can tell you that carrying the XD made me look like I was packing a canned ham under my shirt. For me, the P64 is a near ideal carry size. Pocket carry might be difficult due to its weight, but otherwise I...

New P64 pre-range review with pics
Well I shot the P64 last night. Holy hell did that thing HURT! It was not an enjoyable experience.... Huh, first time I have heard that :). Replacing the hammer and recoil springs is about a 5 minute job. It lightened the DA pull and recoil slightly. What also helps my sensitive girlie hand is a sl...

My P64's Range Report
Nice shooting. When I first bought my P64, I was so excited that I went to the range and shot 200 rounds. I paid the price with a swollen hand. I performed obligatory spring mods which lightened the DA pull and recoil just slightly. The P64 is still my favorite. No better deal out there and a perfec...

joined the P83 crowd
I posted this question elsewhere just a while ago...Can either of you speak to the build quality? I have read elsewhere that it is stamped/welded. Implicit in what I read was the P83 was an improvement over the P64 but of lesser quality. Thoughts? I am interested in the P83, but net yet sure I have ...

The Polish Wanad P-83
Can anyone elaborate on the build quality of the P83? I have read that parts are stamped with welds. Implicit in the comments I have read elsewhere is that, while an improvement over the P64, is is of lesser quality. I really like my P64, so it is not as if my standards are unreasonably high. I just...

Another J&G P-64
I switched from the CZ82 a while ago as well (and sold it). Other than the obligatory spring job, I did put on the Handall Jr to lesson the shock to my delicate girlie hand. Covering up the nice Zee grip is a bummer but it does add comfort.

recoil info-come on, put in your 2 cents
I changed between those two recoil springs and, honestly, I could not tell the difference. There was no change to the operation of the P64. What really helped with the pounding to my hand was the $8.00 pachmyr slip on grip. Granted, it kills me to cover up my new Zee flat panel grips but it does wor...

Wrapped in newspaper from, yep, J&G. No complaints.

Carrying Tips
HP,
Just curious if you ever decided how to carry on your run? How do you plan to conceal with just little running shorts and a tanktop? Just kidding (kind of).
The constant bounce of the P64 along those three miles would, at best, be very annoying.

VERY hard DA trigger pull
PshootR/Normsutton, Thanks for the input. I guess I will quickly reinstall the washer just in case. Using the wire to keep the mag release locked on the post should help the re installation. I was holding the sub assembly together with my hand and then aligning the pin hole to that on the frame...it...

VERY hard DA trigger pull
All, I finally replaced my hammer spring with the 18# spring and will take it to the range to test it soon. Quick question...At the top of the post the spring sits on is a spacer. I COULD NOT get the pin in with the spacer on. Removing it gave me just the play I needed to eventually reassemble. My q...

Grips & Cocked and Locked
I see what the OP is saying...when I slowly engaged the decock lever just beyond the mid way point the pin is blocked, trigger is disengaged and hammer is back. I'll leave details to the experts here (you guys know who you are!) but I would never recommend this hybrid condition of "Kinda Decock...

J&G P-64's
Southbendin, All I can say is Ouch! On the scale from "gently used" to "seen better days" that P64 was off the chart. They should have just let you keep the POS for parts and sent you a decent one. As to Fritzhund's original post, My prior Milsup was for a CZ82 from AIM in late 2...
