Problem with P64
By 'runner' do you mean the follower? I did notice the lips of magazine on the left were longer.

Barrel Nick at Breech
I too had a small nick on the breech, polishing wheel and dremmel took care of it. I had assumed that sometime during disassembly, someone had lifted the slide out of the rails and let it slam forward causing the nick.

Getting to know the P64 (longish)
Charles- Since you have had carry permits before, you know the value of practice and more practice. All your concerns are justified. I too, found the magazine release to be not very handy. I was able to somewhat help this by slightly beveling the rear of the plastic bottom of the magazine, and a rad...

Which Hammer Spring are you running?
Has anyone measured the weight of the double action trigger after the hammer spring change? I helped measure one with a 19# spring and it was still heavy at 24.5 pounds.

Grips & Cocked and Locked
Don't think there is a cocked and locked feature on a p-64. If you remove the slide so you can look at the safety from the bottom ,set at the on position, if there is such a feature you should be able to see a detent in the safety for the detent pin.

Reloading the 9x18
dwd Grafs does not have a big fancy store like Cabelas. Located in southern outskirts, east side of highway, back about 100 yards with a sign along road. Kind of easy to miss the first time.I have not been there in a good while, but they always seemed to be well stocked and competative prices.

Unpleasant experience.
I use a contender 10 inch barrel 357 MAXIMUM with early style grip, for deer. Seven or eight shots with it and you will be tickled to go to a tame p-64.

grips
Was just wondering if anyone had tied to make some grips out of antlers, I would think antler would be strong enough to even make a small beaver tail, if one desires?

Welcome New Members!
Not the newest member, thought I would say how much I have enjoyed the forum. I read every post befire buying a p64 and am very pleased with it. Mine had a few minor problems but easily fixed.
Not sure how I will fit in with experts and intelligent conversation but I'll try.

silencer?
I would advise against a siliencer until you have researched all the laws. It appears to me that a lot of the government agencies seem to think that there job to disarm the general public. If you are not careful you will lose your right to own any firearm. About the only experienc I have with silenc...

recoil same, worse or not as bad as 357 revolver
I agree that recoil is different for different people. I replaced the recoil spring (#22) before shooting it. I found the recoil to be almost mild, however the handgun I usually shoot is a 10 inch barrel contender in 357 maximum with early style grip.

Polishing the feed ramp
I was at a pawn shop and in a box I found a foot operated speed control for a sewing machine for a dollar. I use it on my dremil, works great.

The holidays
Christmas day is almost over here. For the most part it was a lazy day. I reieved few presents and gave a few more, but had asked for none. I spent the day with my family, a wife of 37 years, a son maturing into quite a young man and later his soon to be wife, I realized that for at least this one d...
