Slide stuck open
Hi all, Yesterday, after shooting about 90 rounds through my P-64 the slide locked/jammed back after the last round. I could barely more the slide and the mag was difficult to remove. In better light at home, I could see that the ejector/slide stop was jammed against the bolt face preventing the sli...

Vega holsters
halljt3, Yes, the clip is plastic but it seems durable enough and it has enough spring tension to hold fairly tight. That little nub on the clip sticking through the hole in the leather is what holds the clip on. It seems to me that could be a potential problem keeping it attached to the holster but...

Lee 6 cavity mold from group buy
Just wanted to say thanks to brianintheup for managing the group buy for the Lee 9x18 six cavity mold. It arrived today after a 6+ month backlog at Lee. He posted here after a recomendation from a member on the castboolits forum. Here is where I first saw his post so here is where I'd like to expres...

Vega holsters
I came across these holsters in a couple of shops in the state. The Uncle Mike's I was using was getting stretched out so I figured I'd give the Vega a try. The first shop I found them in was selling them for $17 and the second for $12. They seem well worth the price so I bought several. They are su...

Barrel Nick at Breech
Mine has light ones at 10:00 and 12:00. My guess would be that it was caused by one of the "prongs" below the bolt face. It could be that it occured when putting the slide back on after field stripping. It probably happened on a hot summer day after the slide slipped out someone's and/or t...

Bianchi 100 Pro holster
A local gun shop carries the Bianchi 100 (~$45). It looks like a pretty decent holster. The packaging says it fits the Makarov. Does anyone have any experience with this holster and the P-64 or Makarov? Thanks. Edit: Doing a little searching...Looks like Size 9 is Walther PPK and Size 10 is makarov....

Holster for P64
I'm using and Uncle Mike's size 1 IWB. It seems kind of flimsy but it has held up well.

Pawn shop score - mags
Digging through the tubs of loose mags has finally paid off. I found three P-64 mags marked $19.95 per. My motto is: "it doesn't hurt to ask" so I asked the man how much per mag if I bought all three. He said "$15 per". So I said "deal". The mag guys at that last couple...

DF,
WOW! Those are nice! How did you get round 2 to mould to the pistol so perfectly?

One month only!
Norm, papabear thanks!
After wiping it down with solvent I believe I see what Space it talking about. I will give that a try this weekend, but first a trip to the range. Hopefully it is clean enough.
Thanks for the tips

One month only!
It was very, very oily. Like it had been submerged in 30W motor oil. Took slide and grips off and wiped it dry inside and out. Ran patches through the bore. Seemed to clean up well enough. I'll give a more thorough cleaning soon. Won't be able to shoot it for a few more days though. I took the cheap...

PA-63 - decocker discharges round
The safety seems to shield the firing pin sufficiently. Here is a picture just before the decocker drops the hammer. There is no slop int ths safety. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m2/ozarkjonesn/PA-63-safety1.jpg When I first tried the pencil test suggested by a poster on another board, it jump...

PA-63 - decocker discharges round
Oh, I see that pulling the trigger pushes the pin up which pushes the firing pin up into position.

PA-63 - decocker discharges round
My PA-63 shows very little wear so I guess it is fairly new. Maybe it needs breaking in. BTW, thanks for the links. Dang! Those parts ain't cheap! Norm, I removed the firing pin. Yep it looks like that, all the pieces are there. Cleaned the parts. BTW, excellent instructions. It is back together but...
