Ammo Question
I usually shoot Monarch brand ammo from Russia. I get it locally at Academy Sports for $8.99 per 50. It's a little bit dirty but I've never had any kind of problems It's steel cased, so no reloading but I stock up every paycheck. For the inevitable ban on imported ammo that will be coming...

Brand new P-64 magazines?
I've seen that a couple of places have brand new P-64 magazines listed for sale. Has anyone bought any of these and given them a try?

First/second Range Reports
Sounds like you had a good time! I took my '69 to Thanksgiving dinner today at my in-laws to show around and neither my father-in-law nor brother-in-law could pull the DA trigger without using both index fingers. Ha! Wimps... BTW, send some of that snow our way - it's 79 degrees and muggy! Guess I'l...

First range report
Just got back from the range - the guns shot great! I went through about 150 rounds of FMJ ball, both Monarch and Norinco. No failures of any kind. I even tried Hornady hollowpoints - full magazine, plus one in the chamber. Fed flawlessly! Recoil wasn't bad, about on par with my PA-63. The slide nev...

Finally a member of the club - got me 2!
Well, I'm finally a member of the P-64 club, so to speak - I picked up my two P-64s from my FFL today. Got me a '69 and a '73 from MCS so I could have both types of hammers. When my wife asked me why I bought two I told her I got free shipping that way! As far as I can tell, they are like new. I'll ...

Monarch Ammo
I shoot more Monarch than just about anything else in my PA-63. I've never had a FTF or any other kind of problem. It's a little dirty but seems as accurate as anything else I've fired through it. I go through about 150 rounds on an average trip to the range.

how are you after hurricane Ike
We lucked out. No damage, but we lost power and water pressure. Just got power back 30 minutes ago. We're in far northwest Houston so we just got some wind and rain. Nothing like the south, north, and east side. Those people are in BAD shape. Make a donation to your local Red Cross if you can - FEMA...

New Home Defense gun
That's a pretty good one. I couldn't find one of the real Riot Guns for a reasonable price, so I did the next best thing, I bought a beater long barrel Hi Standard 12 ga. and had my local gunsmith shorten the barrel to 18.5". It has a lot of finish wear, but mechanically it's fine. It's my truc...

You'll have a hard time finding a magazine for less than that. I'd go ahead and spring for it. I'd pass on the belt holster. It's a big ugly clunky thing. I only bought one for the historical significance, you know - how the gun was carried by the W German police forces and so on. Don't have any exp...
