NORM,
If I had that many 1911's I would have to figure out a way to carry them all at the same time ! You would be invincible

First Shot? I'll go with Single Action
Good point tommy2. Besides, unless you break something when you drop it, the hammer can't travel far enough to hit the pin unless the trigger is pulled. That was one of the safety points that attracted me to the P-64. When I carry a 1911 I do as you advise, cocked and locked scares me a bit. It didn...

What does it cost to renew cc permit in your state
Virginia is 50 bucks and now before you can get it the first time you have to take a safety course and get fingerprinted. You should have seen the sheriff trying to do mine. My subconscious kept making me pull my hand back. It was quite a struggle. I think ours is five years. You are right, way to h...

It sounds like you just described my P-64 exactly...except the ser. #. I may order one from them. I thought from the description that they were not that nice.

I bought the Manganese Phosphate solution from Midway. I think the name was Lauer...the same outfit that sells Durocoat. I noticed Durocoat on the label. I have a batch of Zinc Phosphate as well. That makes a nice light gray, I used it on an old Springfield 03A3.....it had been butchered in a poor s...

tommy2, I agree, there is nothing as exciting as waiting for something to arrive. I am happy to recieve my purchases but waiting for them is almost as good. I am sure you will be impressed. The first thing that caught my eye was, the quality of the blueing...very nice for a military import. Well, I ...

Thanks for the compliments, it is nice to have someone appreciate the work. When I showed my wife, I almost had to take her to the hospital, they would have arrested me for boring her to death!

tommy2, I don't have a Nagant..maybe soon...I would guess that my p-64 double action pull was half again as hard as a PPK. It was the hardest double action I ever felt. Wollf has a good assortment of springs if you are interested in fine tuning yours. After I did mine and felt the lighter single act...

I am absent minded as heck. On a previous post I mentioned the slide spring, I forgot that the trigger spring is a bit tough for most folks. I changed that at the same time as my slide spring, it was like a different gun, except the single action got very light after the spring change...not unsafe, ...

I lived in upper Bucks County for most of my life, I don't miss the winters. When we moved to south-side Virginia, the first thing I did was put a range behind the shop. If it's rainy or too hot, I shoot from inside the shop. I've got a giant dirt pile next to the old graveyard that is an awesome ba...

I spent the day parkerizing my CZ 82. The trigger spring and sear spring are a bugger!! At first I wasn't sure if I should do it, but the black paint just didn't do it for me. Of all my pistols the parkerized ones keep their finish the best. I hate to say it but my P-64's beautiful bluing is wearing...

I guess we just have to hope for the best. Who knows, maybe all this economy crap will keep them busy for awhile. Obama says he hates pork, but we will have to wait and see if they try to slip any of this anti-gun stuff in the economic bills. Shot my P-64 a couple days ago. it's like therapy. I can'...

Forgot to mention, the only real problems I have seen are magazine problems....bent or damaged. Mine eats anything I feed it. The gun and both mags were "As New" so I am not sure what time and use will do.

I'm pretty sure you will be happy with the P-64. I have only been messing with handguns and hand loading for 25 years but was actually surprised by the overall quality of the Polish manufacturing. The trigger guards show more looseness than a PPK but the gun is well made. I am not sure how much read...
