Re: PA63 firing pin safety plunger spring?

I got one out of one of those small lighters that came in a 5 pack at China Mart. Not sure if they are "BIC Brand".... Oh, maybe it was a Mini Bic? Well I think it'll be cheap enough to buy one and see. Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't carry this gun, so for now I don't have a huge...

Re: PA63 firing pin safety plunger spring?

I bought 3 from milsurp.com when they had them in stock for the AP-7 (I think that's the 32ACP version of the PA63). I'm technically on spring #4, now, but I don't count the third one, because it broke while I was installing it! I actually saved the last stock one as a reference, and I'm running a h...

Re: Plum to Black?

I was in the same boat. Parkerizing is very easy. 1. Clean up electropencil: stone flats of slides to remove import mark electropencil raised edges. 2. Remove original finish: Strip slide and/or frame. Dunk in diluted muriatic for a minute. Scrub with stainless steel wool. Repeat a couple times till...

PA63 firing pin safety plunger spring?

Mine broke. Anyone know where I can scavenge a replacement? I have been known to wind my own springs, but this spring is really small - approx 2mm outside diameter of the coil.

*Also, I'm on my third firing pin spring and trigger return spring. I suppose I should stop dry firing this gun!

Oh, darn. Then, like me, you've already spent way too much time and effort on a 150 dollar gun. :) What's a few more hours? Try the hammer screw!?

Re: FEG PA 63 fails to cock

Maybe frame #1 is out of spec, or the sear pivot pin holes are worn. Assuming the disconnector is working and the gun works when handcycled, but the hammer is still following when live firing: If the pivot pins have any play at all, you can try making oversize pivot pins. Or maybe it's the firing pi...

Re: Is there a trick to removing the sear on a PA 63?

It's an IQ test. You failed. J/K. It took me forever and a day to get it out the first time. Now it's easy, but I can't even begin to describe how to do it. Just what Chimera said. It comes out the right side. Take the hammer and hammer strut out, first.

Re: weight of carry p64 vs pa63!

IIRC correctly, my PA63 weighs 20 grams less than my P64, empty. But I had removed a little bit of material from from grip hump.

Re: P83 vs P64

I think everyone goes through the sore trigger finger the day after buying one. But it smooths out over time. I have 3 DA/SA pistols and a Smith 686 revolver. My favorite DA trigger pull is the one on my stock P64. It's the heaviest, but the smoothest. Smoother even than the SA pull. And after it st...

Re: Wil you still carry Safty off with one in the chamber?

I've known from the get go that the P64 lacks a passive FP safety, but has a firing pin safety as part of the manual safety. For that reason, I have always carried mine chambered, safety on.

Re: I got shot by my P64 yesterday...

I wish the OP a speedy and full recovery. Great. Now I have to check mine out. Not that I ever relied on the hammer block, before. But I figured the worst that could happen would be an inertial FP strike, which would typically only shoot the floor, if dropped. *5 minutes later: Hmmm. My passive hamm...

Re: Auto SA failure

Check my last post on this thread: http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2945 Summary: Check for worn sear pivot pins. Put the tighter fitting pivot pin in the right side. If you can take the gun all the way apart, replace the FP safety plunger spring with a stronger one (you can...

Re: PA-63 I Need a little help

Do you mean ejector or extractor? The ejector is just a nub on the end of the slide lock. In either case, you can probably find the part(s) on buymilsurp.com. If you don't find it listed under PA-63, check under AP-7. All the parts except the barrel should interchange. If it's the slidelock that's m...

Re: Rough DA pull -Update

FYI, I messed around with these parts, too. And I found out what happens when you get carried away. The first thing that happens is your gun can fire out of battery, so you might wanna test that.

I was able to braze a piece of brass onto the end of the disconnector, so all is well, again.
