New P-64 Caution

Hi guys, Been here for the duration, but sometimes get frustrated with the answers to newbie questions. Some times it's unfounded opinion, but this is still the best board I have been on. My opinion, is that each P-64 that came directly from distributors needed some cleaning, but were pretty perfect...

Questions from a newbie

Hey Zing, how much are the M1s going for these days, and how do you order them? Haven't seen an ad in my gun mags lately.

What's your favorite "Non-P64" semi-auto pistol?

Papabear, things are great here in the Alleghenies. Been in the low 70's, but might get to 80 next week. Garden is thriving with lettuce, cukes, swiss chard, shallots, garlic, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, etc. Tomatoes next week. Brined and smoked some 16 inch brookies, rainbows, and tiger trout last w...

What's your favorite "Non-P64" semi-auto pistol?

Hey guys, check into the Taurus PT111, PT 140, or PT145. All about $300. Great pistols with a little more umph than our beloved CZAK. I have the 9mm 111, and just bought the 45ACP 145 to replace my Glock 30 that my NSA son ran off with. The new SA/DA taurus PTs are a real dream at the price. JMHO, S...

Whatever happened to ... (past forum members)

Stan checks the posts, but doesn't always login. Have slowed down, but still am catching trout here in the Alleghenies, and the garden is doing great. Shot two P-64s a few weeks ago with my oldest son. Not one hiccup, and he ran off with one of them. Still a great message board. Hope you all have a ...

Mag question

Manic, why did you take the mag apart? Don't know anyone who has been here for awhile that has had to do that. The original mags all work just fine.

P-64 jams?

In my humble opinion, mirother is a spammer. I personally do not know ANYBODY who matters here that has had a problem with the original mags. Furthermore, I've not seen one that was not new, unissued(never used). The aftermarket mags may be OK, but we should not let anybody scare us into buying them...

Looking for 1965 CZAK

Yakshe mush!

Please excuse the spelling. Don't remember much Polish. As I recall, you won't find a '65. The design was done in '64, but I think the earliest imports we have seen are 67's. The guys with better memories will correct me if I'm wrong.

Recoil and Trigger Spring OVERKILL

Please see my latest posts on the Wolff Springs thread. NOBODY except Saands, likes the 22# recoil spring, and for good reason. It's obviously too much, unless you want to shoot 120gr ammo and have arms like Arnold. You have to pull that slide back for multiple reasons. I will also repeat that when ...

Wolff Springs

Steve the tight end HAS TO GO ON FIRST! YOUR PROBLEM IS THAT THE 22# SPRING IS TOO HEAVY. Try the 20#, or leave well enough alone. The stock recoil spring works.

This new guy you just reponded to is not up to speed yet. JMHO.

Wolff Springs

I,m not a rocket scientist, but I warned that the 22#recoil spring was too much for most of us, and the only reason to have one, is to shoot ammo not appropriate for this pistol(115-120 gr). Furtermore, when ordering my 3 pk of P-64 17# trigger springs from Wolff, the gal advised me that this 17# sp...
