Re: I Need a Trigger Return Spring for P-64
Go to Norm Sutton. I replaced a hammer spring that he produced. Even came with instructions and is better than the original.

Re: SOG vs J&G P-64s
I have a C&R account at SOG and have had no problem with them in fact, they are easy to work with. Having said that, I was not able to buy an FFL item through them because they insisted my dealer purchase the firearm into his own account. Then sell it to me. They did not want to have me pay for ...

Re: Hair trigger
Apparently with this P64 I used an 18lb replacement spring. When I checked, as suggested by some members here, I found that I had installed 19lb springs on my other pieces. Believe me, I made a difference. Since I first posted I have changed the spring to 19lb and test fired at my local range. Still...

Purchased another Model P64 (my third) in great condition but, missing the trigger spring. As usual, I replaced the springs with new Wolff and was able to acquire a new trigger spring. Took it to the range the other day and got quite a surprise. On DA the trigger pull is what I what I expected with t...

New P64 in last week
I visited J&G a couple of weeks ago to purchase some 9X18 and 7.62X25 ammo (good prices, even now) and looked over an S&W model 10. They had a real bunch of them. The guy swapped out the very worn hand grips for a pair that looked brand new and I bought the sucker for about 180. I think that...

Newcomer with Problem
I had the same problem. The original spring was broken when I bought it locally. Purchased a replacement spring from Norm and using his instructions replaced the sucker in under fifteen minutes.

recoil info-come on, put in your 2 cents
I know a lot of people talk about the recoil on the P64, but it seems about the same as my old S&W 38 special. The trigger pull, however, is a real sonofagun. I routinely replace both springs and get ( I think) improved performance. On a recently purchased round hammer I also replaced the trigger...

Norm's Springs
Got a set of trigger springs from Norm, the other day, to replace the stock ones in my new-to-me 1970. What a difference in the construction of the springs. Using the q-tip trick I was able to change out both springs in about half an hour. (Of course, plastic bag or no plastic bag, I did shoot myself...

Well, I went down and got the gun back and ordered new trigger springs from Norm .While I was at it I ordered a set from Wolf. It'll be like a new gun! Thanks to Norm and the others for all your input.

Marschal Grip Question
Z grips are plastic copies of the originals. Being plastic they are quite a bit cheaper than wood. I bought a set because they would make them with a thumb rest. They came out good. )I know what kind of shooter wants a thumb rest?)sweetknuckles wrote: 2. Also considering Zee Grips -

Thanks for the reply Norm. The picture he drew wasn't anything like yours. I am inclined to think he doesn't know what he's doing. I think I'll get the gun back and do it myself. I usually can do all the work that doesn't need machining, etc with the help of your great pictures and guidance. Only re...

Just purchased a new to me 1970 model P64. Like all P64's this too had a really hard trigger pull, but seemed ok otherwise. Got it home, cleaned it, etc. and found that after racking the slislide the trigger no longer seemed connected. Using the decocker the hammer came down. Took it back to the sho...
