to me, the PA-63 just doesn't feel like it will hold up like the P-64. I've never owned one but put about 100 rounds through 2 different ones.
Also, I just checked and S.O.G. still has them for $139 OR $129 FOR 2 OR MORE

IDPA and P64
Warthog I would say yes-as long as it does not hinder safe gun handling, but remember IDPA is a competition so it may hinder your score, but don't let that keep you from trying. I see you are in Champain. We are in Mchenry which is up near the Wisconsin border, but I think Central Ill Practical Shoo...

I don't have any experience with RIA personally, but I thought I saw some on Classic arms sight( the same people with the chromed P64). Should be a good price. On a more expensive note, if you want a Colt now might be the time to buy as the company was sold early Feb. and the future and pricing are ...

Please don't misunderstand me-the Mil Spec is a fine pistol and a great starter. I wouldn't hesitate if that is what you want, and yes, there is a certain satisfaction in building it up yourself.

IDPA and P64
As President of a IDPA club I have run senerios in the past for BUG gun and something like "your main carry gun jams and you go for your back-up" and used my own .38's and KEL-TEC 9mm. I'm thinking about using the P64 for one. Comments...suggestions? ps.-I finally had to do the 16# mainspr...

I agree with slimster22 completly. We need simpler, old fashon ways. Unfortunatly, I live in the peoples republic of Illonois. also know as the Land of King Richard and Gov. Blowhardovitch. I have thought many times about moving out of this state to a more friendly political climate, but that would b...

How many is to many?
Fear-not. At least for a while. I just talked to Beckey at S.O.G. and they still have a LARGE qty. at $139 or $129 each for 2 or more.

I'm glad we can be open minded enough to talk about other guns. I personally have owned 5 different 1911's-2 Springfields, a Kimber pro, Norinco and a cheap brand (I wont mention the name). As president of my IDPA club I have shot a number of other brands. My favorite is my current Springfield. The ...

daysleeper You claim you "are not liberal or conservative, you don't play that game" but you say "the Constitution is DEAD". Even most hardline conservatives wont go that far. That's about as far left as you can go. And just like most lefties, when faced with the truth (like you h...

Sights
Hi-Great new site, I am new to this forum. Has anyone tried any good sights or have any ideas for new sights? I thought about a gold bead soldered on to the front and milling or knocking out the rear leaf. This would work kind of like a ghost sight.
Any other ideas greatly appreciated!
