10 round mags hard to install in Tantal

I know it might sound strange, but best way to assure fit of all kinds of different mags from various sources is to open up a mag well. I had to do it on several AK clones with US manufactured receivers. Looks like our manufacturers make them a bit tighter than original Com Block. Some work with fil...

New Look

If you'll find IWB, will it mean you'll be "well hung"?
Anyway - great new look.

Congrats Bartosz. Looks like nice early ocupation piece. According to some sources Vis (or P35p as Nazis designated it) was the best 9mm pistol prior to and during WW II. I'm still looking for one at every gun show I visit. Only one I saw last couple years was overpriced late war Styer production in...

Poll: Should I trade a P-64 for a CZ-52?

If you like different firearms, go for for a trade with a "boot". CZ-52 is not a CZAK, but it is an unique gun. I keep mine as a companion to SHE-52 (try to find reliable 7.62X45 ammo for this one!), and testament to great Czech arms industry. I think it handles 7.62X25 bit nicer than TT-3...

Sad news today

Grayfox.
Condolences, my prayers are with you and your friend's family.
My wife just lost her high school best friend last month, and this memory is still fresh in my mind. April was 42 when she lost her battle with cancer.

Original or Not?

I'm down to two CZAK's (third made it's way to my Dad), both in original condition.
'68 is kept in gun cabinet in military holster, '73 is my carry.
I got used to cocking hammer as I pull it up, therefore avoiding DA problems.
When I'll pick another one, I'm planning on some tinkering.

Police Academy

Congratulations Trent.
We need more COMPETENT police officers.
Ask board member of Texas Riffle Association who was arrested for having "assault weapon" on his car seat during stop at Sonic drive thru. It was a Civil War musket!

Oh-Boy! My New Toy (P6/P-225)

Well - you talk me into it. Picked mine weak ago. Shot 100 rounds Sunday without a hitch. Original grips are suprisingly comfortable, but I'm planning on replacing the sights. Work great during day, but can't see militaty ones in low light at all (OK - my eys are old). Fits P220 holster well, so I d...

Shot the P64 today

Put 200 rounds of S&B FMJ thru mine on Sunday. My hand still hurts. No problems with the pistol. Shot Wolf and Silver Bear before, only had couple jams at very begining, and they went away after first twenty rounds or so. I belive it was a gun issue, not an ammo. I guess Garry's statement is tru...

For those of you that carry the P-64...

Keep mine stored in safe place untill it's tome to put it on.
Holstered, safety off, one up the spout. DA provides plenty of safety.
Once a week: mag change, fild strip, light clean, and exercise mechanism.
Once a month (or more often time permiting): range time, and good clean.

Any experience with TOZ-99?

Never tried TOZ. Only .22 rifle I own is 1950 Radom Wz48 trainer. Single shot, bolt action, same like one I got to use during civil defence classes in early eighties. Each of us got issued five rounds for practice, and had to bring five casings back to proof they were fired. That was my oficial fire...

Wolf Ammunition in Iraq?

If bad guys were using Wolf, it might have even come from our stores. Friend of mine, who happends to be busy right now "Making Martyrs" in Bhagdad area, had Wolf 7.62X39 provided to him in Afganistan during previous tour. Unlike Iraq, our guys training locals in Afganistan are allowed to ...

Dallas Gun Show

Got there Saturday after work ( it's only few minutes drive from Love Field). Priced some Arisaka bayos - they got very expensive lately ($125 & up). Found some PA-63s, CZ-52s, CZ-82s. Prices did go up, or if stayed the same, quality went down. I was tempted by Nazi rework of Polish mauser. Look...
